Do I need to tell my neighbours before scaffolding goes up?

Do I need full scaffolding or just a scaffold tower?
It depends on the job, not on any fixed height rule. There is no legal minimum height for scaffolding, the Work at Height Regulations 2005 apply wherever a fall could cause injury and the decision rests on risk assessment. On Kingsfold's bungalows a self erect tower can suit a short, light task like a single gutter run, but roof work, chimney repairs and anything needing materials at height is normally a job for a properly designed scaffold.
