Scaffolding in Haighton

Haighton is a surprise to most people, a genuinely rural parish of farms, cottages and larger detached homes around Haighton Green, yet only minutes from the edge of Fulwood. The narrow lanes are the main thing to plan for here, and with our Preston base about fifteen minutes away we can check access, survey and get a scaffold up without fuss.

Haighton work is a rural mix. Farmhouse roof repairs, chimney stacks on older cottages, barn conversion scaffolds and full scaffolds on the parish's larger detached homes make up most of it, with the odd extension project alongside. Older walls get careful tie planning, and farm sites get sole boards and a sensible set down point agreed before the wagon arrives.

We are about fifteen minutes away, and the lanes around Haighton Green are the narrowest part of the trip, so we always confirm wagon access at the survey. Properties here stand in their own grounds, so scaffolds sit on private land and highway licences almost never come into it. Guide prices start from around £450 for a single elevation, typically £600 to £900, with full scaffolds on the larger detached houses typically £1,400 to £2,500 and chimney scaffolds from around £400. Every quote states whether VAT is included and covers transport, erection, the hire period and dismantling. Scaffolds are erected to TG20:21 and inspected at least every 7 days, and from Haighton we also cover Grimsargh, Whittingham and Fulwood next door.

Scaffolding in Haighton — your questions answered

How much does scaffolding cost in Haighton?

Prices start from around £450 for a single elevation, with most jobs between £600 and £900 for one side and £850 to £1,200 for a full two storey scaffold. Haighton's larger detached homes typically run £1,400 to £2,500 for a full scaffold, and chimney scaffolds start from around £400. Farm and barn conversion jobs are priced individually after a free survey because lane access varies. Quotes always state whether VAT is included, and the price covers transport, erection, the hire period and dismantling.

Can the scaffold go on my neighbour's land or hang over their garden?

Not without permission, a neighbour can refuse access over their land and oversailing without consent can be trespass. In Haighton this usually means field boundaries rather than party walls, and a scaffold sometimes needs a leg or two on a neighbouring paddock. Where works are notifiable under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 there is a statutory access route, and for pure repairs the Access to Neighbouring Land Act 1992 provides a court route, but in a parish this size a polite early conversation sorts nearly everything, and we are happy to help with it.
