Scaffolding in Holme Slack

Holme Slack lies in north east Preston beyond Deepdale, a quiet residential pocket about ten minutes from our base. The stock is mostly interwar and postwar semis and short rows with proper gardens, so scaffolds here usually stand on your own land, which keeps jobs simple, quick and free of licence fees.

Holme Slack's semis generate steady, uncomplicated work, re-roofs, fascia, soffit and gutter replacement, chimney repairs on the simpler interwar stacks, render patching and solar panel scaffolds as more households add panels. Gardens front and back mean the scaffold can normally stand entirely within the boundary, so no Lancashire County Council licence is needed and the only real lead time is our own schedule. Where a semi shares a drive with next door we plan the standards to keep it clear, and where anything must oversail a neighbour's side we help you ask early.

Being about ten minutes away, we can usually survey within 24 hours, and most scaffolds here go up in 2 to 5 hours on site. The fixed price covers transport, erection, a standard hire period and dismantling, with the weekly extension rate printed on the quote in case your roofer overruns. We also cover the neighbouring areas of Moor Park, Deepdale and Brookfield.

Scaffolding in Holme Slack — your questions answered

How much does scaffolding cost in Holme Slack?

Guide prices start from around £450 for a single elevation on a typical semi, with most jobs between £600 and £900 for one side and £850 to £1,200 for a full two storey scaffold. Chimney scaffolds start from around £400 and solar scaffolds typically run £600 to £1,200. Holme Slack's gardens usually keep the scaffold off the highway, so there is rarely a licence fee. We price after a free survey, confirm whether VAT is included, and the price covers transport, erection, the hire period and dismantling.

Who pays for the scaffolding, me or my builder?

In domestic projects the homeowner usually pays for the scaffold even when the builder or roofer arranges it. If scaffolding sits inside a builder's quote, ask for it to be itemised so the duration, any fees and the dismantle costs are visible, and check whether VAT is included. Plenty of Holme Slack jobs come to us through roofers we work with regularly, and we are equally happy quoting you directly or working alongside your builder, whichever suits.

How quickly can you get scaffolding up in Holme Slack?

We are about ten minutes away, so surveys usually happen within 24 hours. Most semis here take around 3 to 5 hours on site, with smaller access scaffolds up in 2 to 3, and these indicative timings are confirmed at the survey. Because scaffolds in Holme Slack usually stand on your own garden or drive, there is no council licence lead time, which means erection can often follow the survey within a few days.

Quotes. All quotes are free and carry no obligation. Quoted prices state whether VAT is included and cover transport, erection, the agreed hire period and dismantling unless the quote says otherwise. If your project runs past the included hire period, the weekly extension rate shown on your quote applies.

The scaffold. Our scaffolding is erected and dismantled by qualified scaffolders and must not be altered, moved or added to by anyone other than us. Please don't attach banners, sheeting or equipment to the scaffold without asking us first. The scaffold remains our property at all times.

Access and licences. You agree to provide reasonable access to the property for erection, inspections and dismantling. Where the scaffold stands on the public highway we arrange the council licence, and the licence fee is included in or itemised on your quote.

Insurance and safety. We hold public liability insurance and employer's liability insurance, and our scaffolds are erected to TG20:21 guidance with statutory inspections at least every 7 days while the scaffold is in use. Insurance certificates are available on request.

Your enquiry and your details. When you send an enquiry we use your name and contact details only to respond to you about scaffolding work. We don't sell or share your details with anyone else, and we don't send marketing. Ask us at any time and we'll delete your details.

Payment. Payment terms are stated on your quote or invoice. The scaffold may be removed if invoices remain unpaid beyond the agreed terms.
