Do I need to tell my neighbours before scaffolding goes up?
There is no legal duty to notify neighbours if the scaffold stands entirely on your own property, though on Broadfield's semis, where houses share a party wall and sometimes a drive, a friendly word beforehand is sensible. Permission only becomes a legal matter if the scaffold must stand on or oversail their land, or if the underlying works are notifiable under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996.
