Scaffolding in Coupe Green

Coupe Green sits on the high ground above the Darwen valley between Gregson Lane and Samlesbury, a small cluster of cottages, bungalows and family homes with long views towards the Bowland fells. We are around twenty minutes from our Preston base, and every scaffold we erect here follows TG20:21 with free surveys and written quotes as standard.

Being an elevated spot, Coupe Green properties take the weather, and a fair share of our visits follow wind damage, slipped tiles, leaning stacks and lifted ridge lines. Chimney scaffolds from around £400 and single elevation roof scaffolds, typically £600 to £900, are the bread and butter here, with bungalow jobs often coming in lower. Because sites are exposed we tie and brace with the wind in mind, and we re inspect after storms as the regulations require.

The lanes up from Gregson Lane and Hoghton are narrow, so we confirm access on the survey and bring the right size wagon. Most scaffolds sit on private gardens and drives, meaning no highway licence is needed, and quotes always state the VAT position and cover transport, erection, hire period and dismantling. Neighbouring Gregson Lane, Higher Walton, Hoghton and Samlesbury are all on the same daily runs.

Scaffolding in Coupe Green — your questions answered

How much does scaffolding cost in Coupe Green?

As a guide, prices in Coupe Green start from around £450 for a single elevation, typically £600 to £900, with full two storey scaffolds usually £850 to £1,200 and chimney scaffolds from around £400, or from around £250 on bungalows. Exposed hilltop plots can need extra ties and bracing, which we allow for after the free survey rather than surprising you later. Quotes state whether VAT is included and cover transport, erection, the hire period and dismantling.

Is your scaffolding TG20 compliant?

Yes. All our standard tube and fitting scaffolds are erected to TG20:21, the NASC design guidance recognised by the HSE, and we can produce a TG20 compliance sheet for your configuration. That matters on an exposed spot like Coupe Green because the guidance covers wind loading for the scaffold type and any sheeting. Anything outside TG20 scope, such as temporary roofs or unusual loadings, gets a bespoke design by a competent designer.

Can the scaffold go on my neighbour's land or hang over their garden?

Not without permission. A neighbour can refuse access over their private land, and oversailing their airspace without consent can be trespass. Where building works are notifiable under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996, Section 8 gives a right of access with compensation for any loss, and for pure repair the Access to Neighbouring Land Act 1992 allows a county court application. In practice, with Coupe Green's tight cottage boundaries, a polite early conversation solves almost every case, and we are happy to help with it.

Quotes. All quotes are free and carry no obligation. Quoted prices state whether VAT is included and cover transport, erection, the agreed hire period and dismantling unless the quote says otherwise. If your project runs past the included hire period, the weekly extension rate shown on your quote applies.

The scaffold. Our scaffolding is erected and dismantled by qualified scaffolders and must not be altered, moved or added to by anyone other than us. Please don't attach banners, sheeting or equipment to the scaffold without asking us first. The scaffold remains our property at all times.

Access and licences. You agree to provide reasonable access to the property for erection, inspections and dismantling. Where the scaffold stands on the public highway we arrange the council licence, and the licence fee is included in or itemised on your quote.

Insurance and safety. We hold public liability insurance and employer's liability insurance, and our scaffolds are erected to TG20:21 guidance with statutory inspections at least every 7 days while the scaffold is in use. Insurance certificates are available on request.

Your enquiry and your details. When you send an enquiry we use your name and contact details only to respond to you about scaffolding work. We don't sell or share your details with anyone else, and we don't send marketing. Ask us at any time and we'll delete your details.
