Bashall Eaves sits in the deep lanes between the Hodder and Clitheroe, a hamlet of stone farmhouses, cottages and a scattering of historic listed properties. It is the far eastern edge of the area we cover from Preston, but still comfortably inside daily range. The work is traditional, slate and stone slate reroofs, chimney stacks, repointing, and repairs to barns and outbuildings, with fixings planned carefully wherever a building is listed so that historic fabric is never drilled without the right consents.

Allow about 40 minutes from our base, with the final miles on narrow lanes where we check wagon access and passing places before the erection date. Ribble Valley Borough Council is the planning authority for any underlying works needing consent, while Lancashire County Council covers the highway in the rare case a scaffold touches the lane. We serve Great Mitton, Little Mitton, Chaigley and Walker Fold on the same journeys, which keeps surveys and inspections out here practical rather than a special trip.

Scaffolding in Bashall Eaves — your questions answered

How much does scaffolding cost in Bashall Eaves?

Prices start from around £450 for a single elevation, with most jobs around Bashall Eaves between £600 and £900 for one side and £850 to £1,200 for a full two storey scaffold. Chimney scaffolds start from around £400 and full wraps from around £1,500. Older stone walls and any listed status can add design and fixing time, and the longer travel out here is built into the fixed quote rather than charged as an extra. We price after a free survey, state whether VAT is included, and cover transport, erection, the hire period and dismantling.

Can you scaffold a listed building in Bashall Eaves?

Yes, with extra care. This corner of the Ribble Valley has a number of listed farmhouses and historic properties, and listed building consent from Ribble Valley Borough Council may be needed if drilled anchors or ties would penetrate historic fabric. Historic England best practice is to agree fixings in advance with the conservation officer, use stainless steel on historic walls, and prefer freestanding or buttressed designs that avoid drilling, which is how we approach every listed job before erection.

Do you actually cover Bashall Eaves? You are based in Preston.

Yes, though we will be straight with you, it is the far end of our patch at about 40 minutes each way. It stays practical because Great Mitton, Chaigley and Walker Fold sit on the same runs, so surveys, weekly inspections and the final strike slot into journeys we are making anyway. We check the narrow lanes for wagon access before the build date, and quotes are free with no obligation.
