Scaffolding in Little Town

Little Town is a small farming hamlet on the lane between Longridge and Chipping, best known locally for its dairy and farm shop. The properties are mostly farmhouses, cottages and agricultural buildings, and we scaffold all three, roughly 25 minutes from our Preston base. Surveys are free, quotes are fixed and every standard scaffold goes up to TG20:21.

Little Town is a hamlet on the lane between Longridge and Chipping, known to most locals for its dairy and farm shop, and made up of farmhouses, cottages and working agricultural buildings. The scaffolding work follows suit, farmhouse reroofs and chimney stacks, barn repairs, and occasional platforms for rendering or solar installations on the more modern properties nearby. Working farms mean we plan erection around yard traffic and animals as standard.

We reach Little Town in roughly 25 minutes from Preston through Longridge. Scaffolds here almost always stand in yards and gardens, so no highway licence is needed and jobs can move quickly, often surveyed one day and erected within the week, with the honest caveat that timings are confirmed on the survey. Thornley, Chipping and Longridge itself are covered on the same route, so we are passing most weeks in any case.

Scaffolding in Little Town — your questions answered

How much does scaffolding cost in Little Town?

As a guide, prices start from around £450 for a single elevation, with most Little Town jobs between £600 and £900 for one side and £850 to £1,200 for a full two storey farmhouse scaffold. Chimney scaffolds start from around £400 and full wraps from around £1,500. Scaffolds here nearly always sit on private land, so there are no licence fees to add, and we quote farm and barn work by the job. Prices follow a free survey, state whether VAT is included, and cover transport, erection, the hire period and dismantling.

How much does a chimney scaffold cost in Little Town?

Chimney scaffolds around Little Town typically start from around £400 for a two storey farmhouse, boarded out at gutter level or saddled over the ridge. The stone farmhouses in this part of the valley often carry broad stacks that catch the weather off the fells, and platforms on all four sides push the price towards £700 to £1,200 on taller properties. Bungalow stacks start from around £250. Most chimney scaffolds are only up for 1 to 2 weeks, and we quote the extension rate up front in case the repair overruns.

Do you actually cover Little Town? You are based in Preston.

Yes. Little Town sits about 25 minutes from our yard on a road we drive most weeks serving Longridge, Thornley and Chipping, so it is comfortably inside the daily patch. That closeness means quick surveys, prompt storm inspections and a fast strike when your trades finish. If your property is one of the outlying farms we will check wagon access on the survey so the erection day runs smoothly.
