Scaffolding in Bonds

Bonds sits on the southern edge of Garstang, close enough to share the town's shops and school run but with its own identity as part of the Barnacre-with-Bonds parish. Its mix of older terraces, semis and newer infill keeps us busy with roofing and chimney scaffolds, all about 20 minutes from our Preston base and always quoted free after a survey.

Scaffold work in Bonds is classic edge of town stuff. Chimney stacks and reroofs on the older terraced and semi detached houses, gutter and fascia jobs, render repairs, and larger scaffolds where families are extending rather than moving. Terraced properties sometimes need the scaffold on the footway, which brings in a Lancashire County Council highway licence at £42 per 7 days with two working days notice, and we arrange the whole thing including insurance evidence. Semis and newer houses usually have enough drive or garden for the scaffold to stay on private land with no licence needed.

We are about 20 minutes away up the A6, so surveys within 24 hours are routine and mid hire alterations are easy to schedule. Wyre Council handles planning consents for any underlying building work. From Bonds we also cover Garstang town centre, Bowgreave down the B6430 and the rural lanes up into Barnacre, so wherever your property sits in the parish we are already working nearby.

Scaffolding in Bonds — your questions answered

How much does scaffolding cost in Bonds?

As a guide, prices start from around £450 for a single elevation on a typical semi, with most jobs in Bonds between £600 and £900 for one side and £850 to £1,200 for a full two storey scaffold. Chimney scaffolds start from around £400 and full wraps from around £1,500. Terraced houses that need a licensed footway scaffold carry the council's £42 per 7 days licence fee on top. Every job is priced after a free survey, quotes state whether VAT is included, and the price covers transport, erection, the hire period and dismantling.

Do I need to tell my neighbours before scaffolding goes up?

If the scaffold stands entirely on your own property there is no legal duty to notify anyone, though on the terraced rows in Bonds a friendly heads up is always worth it, especially where access is shared. Permission becomes a legal matter only if the scaffold must stand on or oversail a neighbour's land, or where the underlying works are notifiable under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996. The scaffold itself does not trigger the Party Wall Act, the building work does, and we are happy to help with the conversation.

How quickly can you get scaffolding up in Bonds?

We are about 20 minutes from Bonds, so we can usually survey within 24 hours. Most domestic scaffolds are up within 2 to 8 hours, a standard two storey semi typically taking 3 to 5 hours on site, confirmed at the survey. Where the scaffold needs to occupy the pavement, Lancashire County Council requires at least two working days notice for the licence, so allow a few extra days on terraced frontages and we will manage the timeline for you.
