Scaffolding in Little Eccleston

Little Eccleston is the small hamlet beside Cartford Bridge, the old toll crossing over the River Wyre, a cluster of cottages, farms and family homes just off the A586. It is about 25 minutes from our Preston base, and every scaffold we erect here goes up to TG20:21 with a free survey and a fixed written quote first.

Jobs in Little Eccleston are mostly cottage and farmhouse work, chimney scaffolds on older stacks, reroofs, gable repointing and access scaffolds for outbuildings, with the occasional extension scaffold on the newer homes. Properties near the river sit low and damp through winter, so pointing and render repairs come around regularly. Nearly all scaffolds here stand on gardens, drives and yards, so highway licences are rare, and the survey concentrates on ground conditions and getting the wagon in off the lane.

We are about 25 minutes away via the A586 and cover Great Eccleston next door, Elswick over the fields and Out Rawcliffe across the river on the same visits, so mid hire inspections and alterations never wait long. Wyre Council is the planning authority for any consents on the underlying building work, and most domestic scaffolds here are erected within 2 to 8 hours once the date is set.

Scaffolding in Little Eccleston — your questions answered

How much does scaffolding cost in Little Eccleston?

Guide prices start from around £450 for a single elevation, with most jobs between £600 and £900 for one side and £850 to £1,200 for a full two storey scaffold. Chimney scaffolds start from around £400 and gable ends from around £350. Cottage and farm properties vary with wall construction and access, which the free survey sorts out before we quote. Quotes state whether VAT is included and cover transport, erection, the hire period and dismantling.

Do you actually cover Little Eccleston? You are based in Preston.

Yes, the hamlet is well inside our daily patch, about 25 minutes via the A586, and we are around Great Eccleston and the Cartford Bridge area most weeks. That means quick surveys, prompt seven day inspections during longer hires, and a fast dismantle once your trades finish. If your roofer needs a lift altered mid job we can usually be with you within a day or two.

How long can I keep the scaffolding, and what if the job overruns?

The fixed price includes a standard hire period, typically 6 to 8 weeks in line with the UK norm, and covers transport, erection and dismantling. If the work overruns, a weekly extension rate applies, usually £20 to £75 per week for domestic scaffolds depending on size, and it is stated on your quote from the start so there are no surprises when a wet month slows the roofing down.
